Full Professor in the Department of Political Scienceof Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine). The researcherholds a PhD degree in political science from Ivan Franko National University of Lvivwith the thesis devoted to cabinet stability in Central European countries.He also holds aScD degree in political science with the thesis devoted tosemi‑presidential system ofgovernment in European countries.VitaliyLytvyn is an employee of the public online newspaper “Kupol” and the researcher-analyst at the Center for Political Studies at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (on a voluntary basis). During 2015-2018, VitaliyLytvyn was the coordinator of the International Visegrad Found project aimed at implementing the course „Comparative Analysis of Political Institutions of the Visegrad Group and Other CEE Countries” for master students of political science at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
The scientist is the author of about100 scientific researches.

Research interests: comparative political science, political institutions, systems and processes, parties and party systems, elections and electoral systems, contemporary political regimes,systems of government,semi-presidentialism, European political institutions,political development,constitutional engineering,experiments in politics, Western, Central and Eastern European countries.
